Overview
In 1990, my mom and dad bought this truck for my papa as a Christmas present to replace an old ford. I remember sitting in the truck at the end of the street while they tied the bow to it.
Papa passed Jan 4 2008 and the truck has been with my uncle ever since. I tried to buy it from him before I bought my blazer but he didn’t want to get rid of it.
Allegedly my uncle says a new fuel pump and battery to run but the dirt dobbers in the tbi say otherwise. We did hook a battery up and the electrical fired right up. Even the windows rolled down. Motor and transmission was replaced back in 07.
Bed needs to be fixed from when my cousin backed into it and it’s got a few extra dings and dents. Interior is that great 90’s red and looks fantastic. Roof needs to be painted. Frame is surface rusted. Haven’t found any rust anywhere in the body.
Gonna drag it home and more than likely rip the TBI out and throw a carb on it, fresh gas and pump, fresh battery, and fresh tires.
My uncle made me promise to take him for a ride in it once I get it running and to not cut it up and hot rod it. So maybe not a blown 6.0LS but maybe a fun little 383 and a 4l80e.
