Parallel Flow Condenser

Passenger side.
The NAPA one is the Spectra part. The computer at NAPA lists this info.
@Teck is yours still doing well?

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in on this topic. I pulled the stock compressor, stock condenser, accumulator and hoses and ended up doing one of those classic auto air upgrade kits with a Sanden compressor, brackets, hoses, accumulator, etc. It didn't come with a parallel flow condenser, so i ended up finding a generic condenser with similar dimensions to the stock one, fabbed some brackets and put it all together. I also added a pusher fan on the condenser to help cool things when the truck isn't moving. The truck cools pretty nicely on 80+ degree days. But when standing still, you can tell that the AC isn't as cold, but still plenty cool. A lot of people just kinda say that the R134 doesn't seem to cool as great as the old R12. But, with vent temps at 45-degrees on a hot day, i can't complain. The point of my rambling is, if you're mechanically inclined, and owning a K5 I assume you are, buying a generic parallel flow condenser will work just fine and help you achieve better results with R134.

Yes, but sometimes it's nice to have a little simplicity!
My '70 is getting a generic parallel flow unit, but it doesn't have much stock stuff left in the plumbing.
For the '90, this looks to be a great option that provides upgrade in a replacement price!!

I read a lot of articles which mention fitment issues. Don't be surprised if you have to modify your mounts a bit to make it fit. I believe it's not as wide as the factory condenser, but I'm sure you'll get it mounted just fine with a little "adjusting".

I guess that I forgot to post after my install.
I installed the parallel flow condenser in my '90 and charged it with what call "dangerous freon". Redtek R12A. A good friend has used it for years, so I wanted to try it. I have a plastic Vortec engine fan.
It will give me vent temps such as this on a 90* day.
I haven't gotten my cycling switch adjusted perfectly yet, it runs constantly, but I haven't driven it more than 10 miles at a time since getting it going.
