ParkerMP 40Amp Plasma Cutter $299 + $64 S&H & Insurance

I'm confused. Everybody is saying buy buy buy, but there's post after post of people having trouble with these and having to send them back for repair. I'd like an inexpensive plasma, but my primary goal is one I can forget about and it work every time I need it, which may only be a few times a year. But, if I only use it a few times a year and 2 years from now I go to use it and it dies on me and is out of warranty I would be pissed. I know people were bashing the Harbor Freight ones, but these seem to blow up like theirs do. Am I reading this wrong?

Unless I missed something, two people had problems and the company took care of both people. mr250 had some major issues that I think got worked out.

My torch blew up this weekend. Don't know why. I drove over there on Monday and left with a new torch.

I am happy still happy with the unit and the support. Anything different posted on Pirate?

Well I cant say I had major problems just pissed my pants is all and Ive done that plenty of times. Just a problem that was addressed as it should have been. Id like to think I wouldnt have purchased an ac/dc 200s tig from them WHILE my plasma was in for repair. unless Im to much a product of the late 60s this is a very good warranty.Especially for a "chinese Product. But hey, go spend triple or quadruple for less warranty and no guarantee if it makes you more comfortable. The good customer service feedback is what caused me to buy in the first place. This is a phenomina that seems very scarce these days. Just my .02

mine has been sitting in the garage for the past few weeks waiting for my leg to heal up after some knee surgery (hopefully getting off the crutches tomorrow). as soon as i can start walking around again i have to get the plugs. i was wondering what you guys are using for the plasmas and welders. is the 3 prong 30 amp enough (i think the site says they only draw 28 amps) or should i go with the 4 prong 50 amp. also, i don't know what to look for as far a phases for the plugs and outlets. i have the 220v line run w/ the breaker off waiting for the outlet too.

Dont know if the 3 prong 30 amp is enough or not but I did the 4 prong 50 amp x2 dedicated for plasma or tig and 7.5hp twin stage compressor and 1 30amp 110v dedicated for my millermatic. None have ever given me a hiccup off my 200amp service. Price diff is min. and when I sell my house? mine are right next to panel so it was xtra easy. I even drank beer while playing with the stuff:D.

Thats artsy fartsy.

I got my MIG/TIG/Plasma back a while ago and it is working great. No more problems. They added the turbo option at no charge. I'll post some pick of the bumper I'm making when I get a chance.
