Part identification help

Anyone know what this long metal peice with bolt holes in it is for or where it might go?

It's got Yellow overspray on it from previous owners.
And there's also a short metal piece of similar design.

I think it's the end piece that holds the carpet down in the back.

I just got my interior carpet kit the other day but waiting to install until after an event here called mountain top mud bogs

The shorter piece looks like it mounts on the ds inner fenderwell. Down low by the steering shaft.

Actually I think that is the top tailgate "lip" that the Hard top rear window would seat against. AKA shin buster when climbing into the rear lol

Now that I look at the picture and the holes in the tailgate and the piece I think you may be right

I don't think so. His piece has 2 "lips". It's the carpet strap for sure.

Naaah yer looking at it wrong...

In his pic if you flop it over and line up the end of the tail gate the yellow part will hang over the edge of the gate providing a seat surface for the rear window. That is why it's yellow from when the paint was laid down.

I live where it rains a lot and is pretty cold most of the year, im assuming you got a soft top? How's it working out?
