Trying to gather all my parts to do a serp conversion and need a air compressor. Seen alot of talk about a new updated compressor from AC Delco but never say a part # for this. All my brackets came from a 95 c1500 4.3

Little advice would be nice guys.

I understood that any new one you buy is the updated design. Don't know about remanufactured. I would just order a new AC Delco for the truck your brackets came off of.

Or if you have a good used compressor, you can just swap the front pulley and clutch. The main differences between the R-4's are which way the coil is clocked. If you're already updating the wiring, you may have some options here.

ok good to know I was reading some post where you had talked about doing your truck's a/c once.

I tore a compressor apart here, but didn't take any notes on what clocks the coil and have never tried to change it. I suspect it's how the front of the compressor bolts to the housing. With 4-bolts, you can clock it every 90 degrees, but obviously changing that is only for a compressor you already have discharged.
