Power window on passenger side does not work, the connector on the passenger door is broken at the top, could that be the issue?

Mine is the one on the left

Doubt that’s your issue. Did you check to see if you have power? IIRC the driver side switch feeds the passenger side so might want to look there. This might be a good time to look into doing the relay conversion so the switches don’t have to handle all the power.

I believe that you will need to do more diagnosis. Check for power at the switch, key on. Maybe this will lead to something. :dunno:
If I remember it properly, there is a relay under the dash that is part of the circuitry. But I have never dug into its function. There has to be a way for the ground to flip, depending upon up vs down.

Yeah, that wasn't the issue, I also tried different switches on both doors no luck, could it be the window motor?

Has power at the switch.

Connect the motor directly to the battery. Then swap wires to the motor to see if it changes direction.

Think that is my next step, to pissed at it right now to try today. lol

I understand that!
I worked on a buddy's rig and installed new LMC window regulators with motors. Two weeks later, one died amd wouldn't go down. :angry1:

So, just tested the motor directly to the battery, wire just sparked at the battery but no movement from the window from either wire. New window motor then? What brand is better etc.?

Getting the regulator out with pressure going up, is a pain!
My guess is that the motor itself is still good and just the grease that’s on the gears is dried up. If you’ve ever had one apart then you’ll know what I mean. A little help pulling on the window while operating the switch might work.

That tells me that the windings are good.
You can either drill out the 12(?) rivets and clean/degrease the gears or buy a new one.

Maybe @CK5 is dealing with that situation.
My buddy's truck was a brand new LMC motor and regulator. It was definitely the motor dead. I had greased everything when I put it in just a few weeks prior to failing.

The window tracks definitely need to be cleaned and regressed, both on the window and the one on the inside of the door if that’s what you mean. I’m talking about taking the window motor apart and cleaning the internal gears. It sounds like the motor inside the housing is good since he’s getting a spark which means the windings aren’t burned up.

Just thinking on it some more, I can just buy a new motor and simply plug it in without installing, if nothing happens, its not the motor and i return it, if the new motor works then I proceed with the install.

Or if you have easy access to the driver’s side motor you can use that to test it out. It’s the same motor, just remove the mounting bracket and reinstall it so it fits the passenger side.

switch the power and ground changes the up and down. I use to have a GM window motor plug with two alligator clips. I would un plug the motor plug my test harness and hook to a battery. Back in my agency days I was in 10-15 door panels a week. I found that 1/4" hardware would come loose very quickly and to only 1/4" aluminum rivets to re install the regulators. Need a long rivet tool, or pneumatic one.
