Payments on a used car?

Nope :haha:

only kidding, really have no idea but if some one on CK5 turns out not to be ,we usually give a beat down. I would not have an issue buying most anything from an active CK5 member.

He is a moderator so I should be good? He hasn't replied to my pm yet idk if I can send pm's on my phone

Yes sir jessie, I could co sign but meh. Fourwheelerjeff has a pretty good looking one he wants to sell and I'm interested in. Ill save up.
Please do save up. :thumb:

Unless the laws have changed you CANNOT sign ANY contract for ANY loan. You have to be 18 to get ANY loan. A co-signer has nothing to do with it. Your age does.

Had my first loan at 16. Dad cosigned for it. :waytogo:

12 years later, I've had a half dozen other small personal loans, excellent credit score, and bought our first house last year. I'd say the lesson was well learned. :waytogo:

I stand corrected!

My bias is simply due to getting stuck in debt at a young age. Up until about 2 months ago (I'm 43 now, BTW!) I have been in debt for my entire life starting at age 18. While obviously we all need to build credit, my point was to take it slowly and be very, very careful about it. More so to the point, credit cards are evil IF you over-use them and can't pay them off. Those credit card companies will suck your soul from you if you are not super careful with them and start to carry a balance instead of paying them off in full.

So I think you can understand why I say it's a better idea to pay cash. Besides, having cash in hand is a very powerful negotiating tool when buying a used car. You can say "I'll buy it RIGHT NOW" as opposed to saying "I'll buy it, but give me a few days to get a check from my loan company." Sellers might not wait if someone with cash comes along in the meanwhile ... I know I've done that. I'm a first come, first serve kind of seller. ;)

If you get a loan and need a co-signer, you are not getting the loan. Yeah your name might be on it, but the loaner felt that you were to much of a risk so they needed somebody else to loan the money to. That is where the co-signer came in and why you need one.

BTW

Most important parts of a truck are it's mechanical workings (engine, trans, driveline)
Don't be worried about the other stuff, it's easy and cheap fixings. Always assume the engine is garbage, trans is on it's way out, axles are full of water, and T-case shift forks or pads need replacing. Ugly seats= find some nice ones on craigslist. Ugly paint = rustoliem paint job. Gauges not working = mickey mouse mount some autometers :)

If I bought another blazer, my criteria would be much different. No engine, trans, T-case, or axles. Just a body with no rust and a frame with no problems. I damn near got that with my current blazer, since I replaced the engine, T-case, and front axle anyway.

That's a great point. I mentioned to K5trs that his best bet is to buy a truck that doesn't need a ton of work, if possible, so he can enjoy driving it all summer ... instead of working on it all summer!
