penetrating oil...

so I've run all the major brands, PB, Kroil, Deep Creep, etc...

recently kind of got forced into trying some Lucas stuff.. it was all they had at the zone when i needed some.. after i try this out, I wanna try out the oldschool, ATF/Acetone mix in a spray bottle..

never made it, what % of each? does it work?

Thrust brand has been good for me . And i live with in 1.25 hr's of 2 of the biggest salt mines for road salt .

50/50 atf and acetone. Never found a bolt it won’t unseize. Spray bottle or lather it on with a brush.

Yaa that stuff . My local car quest store sells it .

Its not 100% perfect but better than p.b.blaster or other stuff .

huh, that first ones is a bit odd.. says veggy works better... but the atf mix was 95/5.. i'd always heard 50/50 or 75/25...

the other guy said, 50/50... think i'll try that next time..

I'll be curious how good the lucas is. had never seen it and a lot of their products get a lot of raves i guess..

skip aluminum based and go copper based . i saw a truck from the 60's rusted apart beyond saving . but them 8 seat bolts come out like they were put in the day before and there was copper anti-seize on the threads . . . and it was my dads old home made wrecker i always remember as a kid growing up .

The acetone is gonna vent off pretty quickly, so I think its probably being used as a thinning agent. Except that ATF is already pretty thin.

My understanding was that as the acetone dried it would suck the atf into the material. I dunno. All I know is the stuff works.
