I need a picture of your tailpan with or without your tailgate attached. Next spring I will be welding in a new tailpan (mine is almost none-existant) OH and it has to be with no carpet, I need to see approx. where it is, and how it looks. Thanks
 
I would have to take some more pics of both trucks for you sometime , but here is the homemade tailpan the original owners had made to my other 83 to give you an idea of how it would look with a flat tailpan . When I finish cutting the truck up I am saving this as a patch panel in case someone gets rearended .

Its real real real real nice...I picked up my latest K5 (79) a few weeks ago and it has absolutely no body rust, nuthin...zip...the tub and interior look like it just left the factory, 60k on the speedo looks like original miles ....I still giggle like a school girl every now and then.

I had the same problem on my 73' so I'll take some snaps tommorrow then try to get on here, failing that on webshots.
