Pepsi can stove? DIY backpackers take notice

an update to this, since i made them I have left the two best pop can ones in my center console.

the derability question is moot now.

they have spent 4 months in the console and it ant prity in there knives, vice grips, assorted other tools cd and any thing else i happen to need to throw some ware ends up in there.

and they are no worse for ware, I would say you could pack one of these with confidence of it holding togeather.

Hey mofugly13, those there soder can-stoves look pretty cool, but I gots to ask ya, how many times can you use it before it burns itself up or melts?

They'll last forever as long as they don't get damaged. They don't get near hot enough to oxidize or melt.

Hey bud still use or make these?

I have gotten real pro at them, made several for friends and even sold amfew
to local wilderness stores.

I came up with a whole system that has a pot holder/heat chimney/primer pan it also contains the pot, stove, bowl that doubles as a lid that can sit on top to cover MRE pouches. It can boil a liter of water in 5 min my stove can do it in 4.5. The whole stainless chimney glows redhot with the
stove going.

Nice, I'd like to see a photo of our setup. I crank a stove out now and then, but I am always thinking of how to drill the holes quicker. I need to come up with something as compact as the stove to act as a windscreen/potholder.

bringing this back to the top.

I tried to make one on the quick at work. didn't work. how long does it take to get the outside ring of holes lit? Does everything have to be perfectly sealed to work? gonna keep messing with it as I have some time to kill in the shop. probably this winter.

does anyone have anymore pictures of there setups?
