Anybody know much about these engines. been thinkin about a diesel swap for biodiesel and i found a perkins 540 v8 for $500 just wondering if anybody has heard about a swap into a chevy truck with one of these.

Never heard of anyone doing a swap with one, but they are pretty heavy expensive engines. We ran quite a few Perkins at the mag plant, and they can handle some pretty high temps in the four a six cylinder versions. But they are very spendy engines for parts or replacement.

ya i think this engine is a little too massive for a blazer

Our CK5 friend Issaam (imiceman44) had a Perkins in his K5 once upon a time. I believe it is now disassembled, but he was pleased with it (IIRC). His was a 4cyl though, not a V8. I agree that a V8 Perkins would be way too massive for a K5.
