Phil's '88 Big Blue Build Thread

Nice way to start a Monday morning. Thanks @campfire !

This is proof, should anyone ask, that a 10.5" ring & pinion set fits well in a medium-sized flat rate box ($13). I could have stuffed in a couple more small items by decreasing the amount of padding.

@wetoolowdingbangow, I still have the carrier that these came off, but I haven't heard back from you. :dunno:

The box wasn't light, but it survived the trip very well. Better than others I have seen. It was still relatively rectangular. :D

Lol I had a R&P shipped to me once without any packing inside... It didn't have any damage but by the way the box looked I'm sure that everything around it was beat up!

Awesome. I was concerned when I first got them in there. I took it back apart once after I found that I could get them to clank if I shook the box. So more padding went in. And more tape, of course. :D By the time I was done with it the gears weren't clanking anymore.

Looks like the sticker survived the trip, too. :thumb:

Ely trip report up in the Lounge. No videos yet, that takes me awhile.

You have a really good hand, if you're the one that drew this. Very clean lines. You could go into cartooning. :)
