Phil's '88 Big Blue Build Thread

Yeah, I paid the premium for 5 years, and then moved out of the state 10 months later:doah:

I'm still going to rock the Colorado plates for a few years since its only a summer truck...

I just go to the court house, and give them $30 bucks for a sticker every year. They don't ever look at the vehicle.

Martin

I just mail my title to Madison and they send title & plates to my door. They don't care if the vehicle even exists. I've never understood why people in California think inspections are worth the hassle they create. Is there any net benefit? :dunno:

For some reason we have to smog check EVERY year here in Clark County. Even California was every 2 years. The smog test lobby must be powerful here.

Martin-

How many 30 dollar trips do you make?

More or less - how many vehicles to keep plates on?

Yeah, It employs a ton of worthless bureaucrats in CARB and related areas of enforcement and such. It's a wonderful thing.

Depends on the year. I can say they were inop, and not pay for a few years if I so desire. It costs more to plate my wife's Jeep for one year, than it does to plate my fleet.

It's funny, they always compliment me on the truck, but then I get these little backhand "of course it's too wide to go down some of the trails we do" type stuff. Oh well.

I can tell you this, I found out today I have a tighter turning radius than the 4 door ones, by quite a long shot.

Yes, already got the days off. I'll probably stick to easier runs, but I'll be there.

The cold hard reality is, by the time BB is here, I'll have my rear spartan locker installed, but (unless a money bird takes a big shit on my head) I'll still have 10 bolts with 3:42 gearing. I'm planning on buying a spare rear axle just in case, but that's about it, I don't want to buy all spare front axle stuff until I figure out really which direction I'm going.

Not really worried about sheet metal. Gonna happen eventually. lol. Breaking things and holding people up does worry me. And not being able to drive home. lol.

It's Blazer Bash, these things get sorted out. Best group of guys I've wheeled with
