Just received the "Upgrade" email from PB. All my pics will now be blocked. Time to close that account. A$$wipes. Sorry.
Can you create another folder and move some photos into that then down load?....and if your folder has 2900 photos, the download / .zip procedure doesn't seem to work at all. I've tried about 5 times and the 3GB zip folder is always empty.

I just got the email. Pics are still active in the build thread, for now. I've always copied everything to the hard drive before I uploaded to PB. Is the media gallery here the way to go now?
I usually attach photos directly to the threads.
A guy over at Duramax Diesels just posted this link https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-hotlink-fix/kegnjbncdcliihbemealioapbifiaedg soposed to fix the hotlinking if you use chrome. I've been doing photo searches and have yet to see the photophukyou while using it.....
There are other forums looking at a programming solution to replace broken links assuming the filenames do not change. @CK5 what is the possibility of creating a tool like they are talking about?

Allow the user to upload the same files to the forum gallery and run a utility that replaces links in that users posts only where filenames match.
I am looking into a solution right now but I wouldn't hold my breath because of a previous solution that proxied 3rd party pics.
you would think the forum software companies would be interested in some sort of patch.
See if Photobucket was truly clever they would have developed such software knowing that the 3rd party hosting wasn't sustainable and that people wouldn't pay what they were going to charge. They could have made a fortune fixing their own shitstorm.

Don't know how many of you still get, or read, emails from Photobucket, but I received an interesting solicitation. They are backing off their original price hike and offering something cheaper for non-commercial use. Still pricey.

You know, if they had eased me in to it for $25 a year or so I would have done it without complaining, I used their free hosting for years so I don't mind a reasonable membership fee. My issue with PB is they went straight to WOT, broke 50% of the internet and tried to strong arm everyone because they thought we couldn't live without them and tried o take advantage of it. They will never get any money from me.
$100 only seems vaguely reasonable because they started out at $400.
Sucks to be them. Not paying a single penny for what they tried to do. Too bad, so sad.
