need a pic of a 465 mechanical setup installed in a truck also some pics of how the fork slides on.i belive my fork came off and im trying to figure how to fix it without pulling the trans.i belive my linkage is all wrong.here is a vid of what happened

Do you have the spring that holds the fork to the rod? There should be a spring that keeps the 2 parts together when there is not preasure from the pedal.

Here's a few pics for ya. The first two just show my overuse of throttle return springs. I use them to help return the linkage, and also to hold the pushrod to the fork. I've had a lot of repairs in thigh deep mud before I went overboard with springs to hold stuff together. So far...so good.

The last two are looking into the bellhousing along the backside of the fork, to try to show how the fork attaches the a ball stud. They aren't that great. I think you can re-install it, as long as nothing is broken. I don't remember if the fork retainer spring(?) pushes or pulls over the stud.

You could use pretty much any spring you want in there so long as it hold the pushrod in the cup.


I still don't see any frame side connection in your video. But my clutch linkage looks like the one in post #6 while yours is the one from post #5.


Either way, the mechanical linkage will need to be attached between the frame and motor and will need some spring holding the pushrod into the cup on the clutch fork.

if your fork came off the throwout bearing, i think its impossible to get it back on without pulling the tranny.

imma try the spring in the am.if it doesnt work out comes the tranny.i need to clean the mud out anyway.im keaping my fingers crossed though

I wouldn't say impossible. Hard yes but i HAVE done it.

Of course mine was pretty loose on the pivot ball of the bellhousing also

took the rod loose and pulled onto the fork as hard as i could til it popped off the ball. It only comes out so far. small light (led size to see in there) and wiggled it back to hook the throwout bearing to pull it back to the end of the shaft towards the tranny. Once its there it was as simple and making sure the fork was lined up with the throwout bearing (where it rides on the bearing) bend the little fork snap thing that rides onto the ball or else it'll be loose as hell.

then snap it back into place onto the ball and into the throwout bearing.

Oh i forgot a very pertinent piece of info. Mine didn't have the little cover piece that's supposed to go where the fork enters the bellhousing. Of course that's probably why it had as much slop as it did. it helps there i believe

Either way i did it.

I'd say i worked on it for about an hour that way after dropping the light 15 million times.
