Finally got a trailer and picked up the 1973 Cheyenne k5 blazer and was glad to put in the key and have it start and sound so easy and good. Drove like a champ up ramp and mechanically seemed fine.

Still have engine tag and original a/c in engine bay.
Roof looks a little rough but plan to go topless anyway so not a big issue and probably just need a wipe and paint to bring back to life.

Now love the truck and so excited to get it out and about but unfortunately it’s all original and needs all floor pans and interior redone. When does too much rust come into play not worth restoring a truck?
The frame looked great no rust holes just surface and the outside body had a few spots but not so horrible like the interior steel panels all rear panels , rear wheel wells and front floor pans are rotted out.

I’m not a body guy but always up to learn if the price to farm out outway the worth of the vehicle.
Also need to find a windshield wiper switch if anyone has a link or a cheap working one lying around.

The rust on the outside looks pretty minimal to me. The floors are easier to do since they don't need to be super nice, just solid. And usually they get covered up somehow.
Looks like a good start compared to others.

$3k sound like a fair price I paid?

Either fix it, or just cover it all up with those big rubber mats. Rock the truck until you're done with it and let the next guy restore it. The truck is worth saving. (to get to your other threads question)

I would kill for that hard top! I need a top so I can use it as a pattern for making Carbon Fiber /Kevlar replacement tops. Already part of the parts list I want to make :saweet:

Try get more pics today was getting dark when u picked it up but interior is very worn.
Door panels, seats, dash all thrashed

And luckily (aside from seats) that stuff isn't needed to enjoy the truck once removed.
Seat, hell, just throw anything in. Doesn't mater once you're driving with the top off :D

Got some pics of interior but didn’t get time to take off....gonna need a lot of replacement parts if anyone got extra stuff lying around cheap let me know. Thanks
Window area , door jams, and engine bay including radiator all seem real solid
Rest need work lol
Broken taillights ect

I’ve often thought about doing the same thing with a honeycomb grid between the inner and outer shell for rigidity.

FYI
Original carpet I’m sure this stuff could stand upright by itself lol
