Picked up 73 K5 Cheyenne last night

Several things make that K5 a special one..
First year for square body..
Hardly any serious rot in those photos--here in MA that would be "rust free"...
Full convertible roof--only used from '73-75,and is highly coveted by K5 enthusiasts..
No catalytic converter--last year for points..
Round headlamps..also I think the '73 hood is a one year only ,though other years will fit,it just looks a little different..

All in all I'd say the truck is in decent shape for a 45 year old!..well worth restoring..

$3k sound like a fair price I paid?
Obviously there are lots of opinions and different point of view on this. While I wouldn't pay that much for one in that condition, as I hate rust repair , and know where a great '74 tub is at, I know that my opinion should have no influence on how you feel about your purchase.
I don't believe that you got a bad deal, and still vote for you to save it!!

None of the rust would bother me. Just work. That’s a clean rig.

73-74 hood are the same. In fact, it is almost impossible to tell the difference between a 1973 and a 1974 as there weren't any signifigant changes...maybe some "options" became standard in 1974?

I would think that any full vert that is structurally sound would be worth $3000 these days
