you could probably use a flat filter up against the fender if you cleaned it up a bit.

That crossed my mind but I'll probably go with a round clamp on filter and was also thinking of doing a see-through insert on the top portion of the box just for that extra coolness.

Had a good drive to Nevada today picked up my tires, they're big, wide, and I have no idea how I'm going to make them fit but that's all part of the fun. Also took the opportunity to stop by the Cabela's store to stock up on ammo.

Got the tires mounted up today and did some initial fitting. They're actually pretty close but will definitely need some work to fit and function properly.
The front is right on the fender with just bolting the wheels up so I'll be pulling, trimming, or otherwise flaring them.
The rears stick out about 2" from the body and I'm planning on lowering it another 3" plus the weight of a fully assembled car should drop it down a bit more which will place the tire well up into the fenders. I'll have to do something similar to the rear body as with the front fenders.

Looks good, I bet that metal is alot thicker then most of the import tin they roll and pull the fenders on these days.

It's significantly thicker for sure, I have an '08 charger and even that has paper thin metal comparatively.
Your wheel and tire combo looks perfect. This this going to be a show stopper. I can't wait to see it sitting on the ground on its own weight.

Got the motor mounts positioned and tacked in place and also picked up a digital level that's a real lifesaver in dialing in the angles. I don't know why I hadn't picked one of these up until now.
I left about a finger and a half between the oil pan and the steering rack. I'll add gusseting to the mounts as well.

A big moment happened tonight, I set the car on the ground(well 3 tires at least) for the first time in awhile and I have to say I'm loving the way the car looks so far.
The rear fenders are sitting on the rear tires.
I also came to the realization the alternator sits too high on the factory bracket so I need to order a different style that drops it down.

I took a break from the car this weekend to address some issues in my garage that I've been working around since about the time I moved in roughly 2 years ago and things that have accumulated as both direct and indirect results of that. The 3 big areas that I worked on were storage, cleanliness and workspace.
I spent about 12 hours Saturday cleaning, organizing and throwing out junk that's been floating around since before I moved in and I've been lugging around for years.
First I grabbed a couple storage bin holders from harbor freight.
Then on Sunday after everything was clean and somewhat organized I began thinking of where to put two bench grinders I haven't been able to setup because I didn't have any good suitable space for them.
After looking through a harbor freight catalog I saw their workbenches and thought if I leave the pegboard section off them and place two benches back to back I'll have a 4'x4' work station with 6 power outlets and 4 drawers to store drills, grinding wheels, sanding belts, chop saw blades, etc....
So that's exactly what I did and this was the end result.

let us know how you like those hardware bin racks. I've debated buying those and mounting them in a cabinet....
I had a set of them. The only reason I got rid of them was I moved and couldn't take them. I had all my hardware sorted for quick access. I still use a small set for electrical connectors

The blue and red are pretty well made I do wish there was a little more vertical separation between each bin but it's not that bad and the yellow benchtop style is a decent piece as well, the structure is plenty stout once it's all tight but the bins themselves are a little flimsy but do the job. They're 10" deep so they have a fair amount of storage and the shelves are angled to provide easy access.
I didn't think to put it in a cabinet but that's a good idea if it'll fit in what I have.
The reviews I read were similar to yours, they work well as long as you don't over load them. I would likely build a cabinet for them so the depth isn't more than necessary otherwise that space in front of the bins would be wasted. Otherwise the bins collect sawdust, metal and other crap....

Some parts came in today, I ordered a bunch of assorted gussets from ruffstuff for various things I might need them for but the motor mounts were my main focus with these dimple died 4" ones. I'll have one on each side of the mount.
would of been funny for others to look over your work to find these hiding in there . gussets of fun
