Simply put, the big one. Both are gonna be stellar.

Given the choice I would always pick the larger one

When it comes to compressed air,its just like engines--no replacement for displacement..
It's better to have too much than lacking ,because you never know what chore you'll be tacking in the future...having a large capacity compressor and storage tank will be a bonus if you decide to sandblast or do a lot of DA sanding...
The factors I would use to determine "how big" would be the budget available, how much electric power is available (and single or 3 phase--3 phase is cheaper but not always readily available)...also how much you can afford to run it...
I would like to find a old gas powered tow behind compressor to have for big jobs like sandblasting..gas is cheaper than electricity and re-wiring a garage to handle the load of a high HP electric motor..

First one looks like a damn good air compressor.

The Polar one looks to be a knock off pump of a Champion. It's CFM is also lower than the Champion. I actually have a Campbell Hausfeld Champion knock off in one of my shops, but I bought it over a real Champion because it just doesn't run all that many hours in a year's time.

I would go with the Quincey. It's likely the better compressor, it uses a real Baldor motor according to the add and there's some value there over the usual chinese made motors a lot of the cheaper compressors use. Yes, that Polar makes 17cfm and the Quincey makes 15, but unless you're pushing it to the max, you'll never notice the difference.
