I won this on Ebay last week. I should be picking it up in 2 weeks. Looks to be in decent shape, some rust, nothing too bad. I'm waiting for some more pics but so far, it should make a nice winter project. Rebuilt T350, Dana44/12bolt, convertiable etc etc :D I'm also building a mild "511" 400sb that will be perfect to drop into this, can't wait!

What is the deal with all the other trucks and the one with the half top? Are you grabbing any of them?

He said he is selling them seperately. I thought about maybe buying the halftop too but since I will be going w/ a soft top eventually, I decided not to bother. I will probably look both of those other trucks over when I'm down there and see if there is anything else to get.

Congrats on the purchase! I would try and buy the 1/2 top cheap and sell it. Also, keep your eyes peeled for the 69-72 tow hooks.

Hey for $1200.00 it doesn't look bad at all!! Nice score!

Might I suggest that when you go down, take you camera with you & take a lot of pictures. I'm sure the guy won't mind, especially when you tell him about CK5 & that you'll post them here. Free advertising!!

Lots of detail if you don't mind!! :wink1:

If you do mind just email me the pictures & I'll post them for you. ;)

Later,
Buddy

UPDATE:

I finally went and picked up the 72 yesterday down in MD. Its in decent shape, clean underneth and under the hood. It has the usual rust at the bottom of the doors and under the drivers seat. Nothing alittle Bondo and welding can't fix though. I'll post some pics up when I'm at my friends shop next. I also noticed some rust on the upper windsheild frame, looks like a hole starting. Anything I can do about that??? It will definetely make a nice project, after some TLC :) One word of advise though; don't try to tow a truck w/ a Uhaul dolly :doah: It BARELY fit inbetween the fenders of the dolly, so it wasn't even in the tire holders. Needless to say, I had some problems on the way back that cost me 3 hrs. Had to take it off the trailer, go to Walmart and buy a Come-along, then slowly pull it back up on the trailer. All this in a Wawa parking lot in the freezing cold  Oh well, at least I have a good story about getting this truck. Come hell or high water, I'll be hanging onto it that's for sure.

Would you mind adding some pics to your story? COngrats on the new jewel.

Ya, I'll be posting some pics hopefully this week, when I'm at my friend's shop again. It will probably be later in the week since its going to be so damn cold here. But I will get a bunch of pics up.

Ok, I finally got some pics eariler this afternoon:

I'm going to have my work cut out in the body area, two words: RUST BULLET ;). At least I get some experience in metal working. The driver's side floor has a good hole starting behind the seat and the pass. side has a small one starting. Plus the two holes on the windshield frame. Those are going to be interesting to try to fix....

sweet, looks like a decent base. Hows your back feeling ;)

He had those 2 other Blazers there but the one that had the half top, which was already sold, he told me he was probably going to keep and get running since the motor and trans were good in it. THe other was pretty beat up but it was very clean underneth so it is probably salvageable. If you're interested, I can give you his # and email.

Congrats on the K5 - looks to be in pretty good condition - hopefully don't find too much more rust as you dig deeper. There is a post or two over at the 69-72 Blazer forum at www.67-72chevytrucks.com about rust repair on the windshield frame that you might want to review.
