I’m looking for some good fitment pics of airbags on these trucks. Manufacturer literature isnt cutting it. Ideally with a 4” lift spring but that’s easy to work around.

I want to just buy one but I have my doubts on fitment.

In for the info.
I also could not find much on the net. I have also thought about reinventing the wheel and doing some kind of Class 8 truck bag. Maybe even a single bag mounted in center over housing.

Most of the ones I install on our work trucks just mount to the brackets with a 3/8 bolt on top and either 3/8 bolt or studs on the bottom. Other than that it is just some 1/4" brackets. I have seen somewhere that someone made some that mounted to the top or bottom and then had a pocket the other end would land in for articulation purposes.

I have a Firestone bag kit in my crew cab I bought used from @1977k5. He had it in his K30 with 4" of lift. Technically I have about 6" lift. These are pictures from when it still had the full bed.

I had to add a 2"x6" piece of steel tube to account for the extra 2" of lift.

Don't know if these are helpful, but here are pics of the current install with the cut down wheelbase.

I sell AirLift kits all the time at the shop. 88237 is the 5000 pound rated kit for a K30 with the internal bump stop. They have a 7000 pound bag too.

I usually pull up the install instructions for them on air lifts page but I can’t see them on my phone. It usually gives a good idea of how the kit goes on the truck.

They also have bolt on spacers to accommodate lifts too.

What is the purpose of putting bags on these size trucks?
I put lower spring rate rear lift springs so I need these bags as a helper when I put a shit ton of crap in the bed or pull a trailer.

Airlift appears to have what I call a better upper bracket. Probably negligible between ride rites and airlift but it’s closer to how I would build my own.

I have a couple variables from oem so pics of known dimensions would tell me how likely it will be to modify something.

Last night I settled on Airlift kit 88237 and spacer 52440.

Hoping a 4” lift spring needs a 4” spacer.

I had Firestone air bags at all four corners on my ‘87 V30, but aren’t currently on the truck.
I have 4” springs (lighter spring rate for a better ride) and the bags get the capacity back when loaded.

We’ve installed both the Firestone setups and the Airlift. I personally like the Airlift setup better. The Firestone brackets seemed like they were more complex than needed. The bags themselves are probably comparable but the brackets/install are better with airlift. The internal bump stop on the 5000 pound ultimate bag are a nice bonus.
