Heh, you know, if you had a chrome oil pan, your motor wouldnt have gernaded 
Nothing like the pressure of having to fix what you brought to get home.... I bet those new bearings look purty and polished with all that dirt and grit.. Nothing a little dirt wont do to help self clearance the bearings with the crank. I bet you get another 50K out of the shortblock as it sits :P Im glad you were able to git er done!
