Re: pics of 8\" lift and 33\'s
Well, I should probably say something here. I have seen things are a bit heated, and I tend to stay away from controversy. I think everyone has a right to voice their own opinion and everyone has their own particular style of doing that.
I think its great we all enjoy the same rigs and the same hobby... and I think its great that each of us likes different things. If we all made our rigs just like everyone elses, there'd be no diversity, no personality, and nothing to separate each individuals handiwork.
Personally, I have no problem with what someone wants to do to their rig. I respect everyones tastes. If its not what I would do, it doesnt matter. Thats why I have my rigs to "personalize" and build my own way.
I know reeser personally, and though many may have perceived what he said to have been offensive, or even a slap in the face, I know he didnt mean to intentionally degrade anyones individuality or insult their tastes. It was just his way of expressing how he felt, in a way that came across wrong to most people.
He drives his Blazer every day on 38" swampers, and is pretty much like me... not made of money, but just building up rigs as can be done. His rig fits what he wants and needs it to do on road and off. I have been lucky enough (through depriving myself of every form of other activities besides Chevy 4x4s) to build up "the Fleet", partly because I wanted to have a taste of different types of rigs; a variety to experiment with lifts, tires sizes, motors, etc... I have a truck with 11" of lift, 39.5" boggers, and all kinds of chrome and accessories as well as a bare bones, no chrome camouflage Blazer with 6" of lift on 36's. Again, each of us is different, and I absolutely respect everyones tastes, whether it's 15" of total lift on 31's (might look a bit awkward /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif), or no lift and 44's (and lots of fender trimming /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)
So, as to remain as neutral as I can, and not offend or take sides, all I can say is I think every rig I see on here or in person is cool, because it represents a part of them; their individuality, hard work, etc... whether it's reesers Blazer or anyone elses. No matter how it seemed that he may have talked down to anyone, he didnt mean any offense. He and his brothers are cool guys and Im glad to know them.
I know not everyone will like my rig/rigs, but thats ok. So lets keep on building and be proud of what we do. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
