Re: pics of 8\" lift and 33\'s

WOW, /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I didn't know so many liked my truck, thanks for the opinions guys. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It sure makes a guy feel good when not only yourself but other people can enjoy all the work a guy does and has done to make a truck the way he likes it. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
And Reeser, go back to pirate, we or at least I don't want you here. Here at CK5 we all try to be nice to each other for the most part even if someone does OR asks something that we wouldn't do. We are not all hardcore rock crawling and desert racing fanatics with expensive once K5 buggies built for weekend only fun. A few here do and thats awesome. Most of us have K5's that we use on a daily basis that get us home from who knows where in the middle of the night and don't let us down when we need them most for just plain getting around. Not all of us need or want cut fenders, 5" lift, huge tires and rockwells. Many of us still have stock running gear and some 33's with a lift because it looks nice and is great for light wheeling on the weekends and if you have a problem with that Reeser than there is something wrong with you. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: pics of 8\" lift and 33\'s

Well, I should probably say something here. I have seen things are a bit heated, and I tend to stay away from controversy. I think everyone has a right to voice their own opinion and everyone has their own particular style of doing that.

I think its great we all enjoy the same rigs and the same hobby... and I think its great that each of us likes different things. If we all made our rigs just like everyone elses, there'd be no diversity, no personality, and nothing to separate each individuals handiwork.

Personally, I have no problem with what someone wants to do to their rig. I respect everyones tastes. If its not what I would do, it doesnt matter. Thats why I have my rigs to "personalize" and build my own way.

I know reeser personally, and though many may have perceived what he said to have been offensive, or even a slap in the face, I know he didnt mean to intentionally degrade anyones individuality or insult their tastes. It was just his way of expressing how he felt, in a way that came across wrong to most people.

He drives his Blazer every day on 38" swampers, and is pretty much like me... not made of money, but just building up rigs as can be done. His rig fits what he wants and needs it to do on road and off. I have been lucky enough (through depriving myself of every form of other activities besides Chevy 4x4s) to build up "the Fleet", partly because I wanted to have a taste of different types of rigs; a variety to experiment with lifts, tires sizes, motors, etc... I have a truck with 11" of lift, 39.5" boggers, and all kinds of chrome and accessories as well as a bare bones, no chrome camouflage Blazer with 6" of lift on 36's. Again, each of us is different, and I absolutely respect everyones tastes, whether it's 15" of total lift on 31's (might look a bit awkward /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif), or no lift and 44's (and lots of fender trimming /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

So, as to remain as neutral as I can, and not offend or take sides, all I can say is I think every rig I see on here or in person is cool, because it represents a part of them; their individuality, hard work, etc... whether it's reesers Blazer or anyone elses. No matter how it seemed that he may have talked down to anyone, he didnt mean any offense. He and his brothers are cool guys and Im glad to know them.

I know not everyone will like my rig/rigs, but thats ok. So lets keep on building and be proud of what we do. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Nope, wasn't me. Haven't been that far up north with that truck yet. I don't drive it very far from home because I try to keep the miles down on it.

Re: pics of 8\" lift and 33\'s

I have a 4" susp and 3" BL with 35" MTRs...I'm taking off the BL though in favor of an ord 1". Just too much body roll up high. I bought it like this so I have a valid excuse. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Re: pics of 8\" lift and 33\'s

i think your truck looks pretty cool, yours too jjlaughner. Everyone builds their trucks the way they want them to look and to do what they want them to do, and that means they all have different opinions. all i know is that I can honestly say that about 95% of the truck pictures on this site either make me almost start drooling, printing copies, showing my friends who drive little cars, or run outside and try and do some more work on my K5. to sum up my big waste of everyones time, Im just gonna say to everyone theres no reason to argue, you all have a truck that looks better than mine (for now, /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif), so be happy about it. yeah, im done -pete /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

Re: pics of 8\" lift and 33\'s

Yea.... its either that or just abort the poor thing all together and sell it to the quickest buyer, right Bryan? /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif Or have you changed your mind? Sell a built K5 for a beat Toyota PU... you're outta your skull.

Re: pics of 8\" lift and 33\'s

For those who haven't read the POR thread..... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

As for you, Mr. Reeser, tell me when I've already installed 10" total inches of lift on my '88 V30 and will be adding 38" Swampers, that I'm nuts and making the truck too tall, unsafe, etc. blah, blah, blah.

You see, everyone has their own ideas on how they think their own truck should look, perform, and function. Not everyone has a truck that suits others locations, such as rocks, hills, mud, etc. We each build our trucks we feel and think that will tackle the surroundings of our areas in the best possible manner we feel fit.
Afterall, 10" of total lift and 38's are what is called the "norm" around here since its all mud and hill climbing. No rocks around here.

Lastly, that was a very lame thing to do of taking this thread to POR and letting those guys have their say about it. After reading that thread, I don't think you are sane, but just an asshat because you made yourself look like one on not one site, but two. Good job, keep up the good work! /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif
