A $750 quickie rebuild:
2-bolt main 454 bored .060 over with forged steel crank turned .010/.010, balanced rotating assembly, flattop pistons, closed chamber heads, about 9.2:1 compression, a used $40 "SSI" brand hydraulic cam I bought off craigslist that's .540 lift, gear drive, Crane roller rockers, Weiand Action Plus intake, "new" Edelbrock 800cfm carb I bought used from a friend. Pretty much another assembly of used parts and stuff laying around my garage.

You know you have a lot of trucks when you can go pick up an engine and just back the truck in the shade and use the bed as an engine stand while you build it up. :)

But it's sad when you have so many trucks and still have to borrow a truck. It's in the back of a borrowed truck since I sold the front tires off my $300 '74 GMC 2wd for $50 the prior weekend for mud race entry money. And all other tires and trucks were up at the other place.
