Pics of my \'81 Jimmy (work in progress)

I have been following this board for a little while and thought I would posts some pics of my work in progress, an '81 Jimmy. It started life as a stock, metallic brown, original owner rig.

So far I have done the paint (obviously), redone the the interior, installed Superwinch hubs, lifted it 6" and put on 35" BFGs. I also have an ARB and 4.10s waiting to go in.
I am currently running the stock 305/4bbl, but it there much I can do with this motor? I thought about fuel injecting it, but I am not sure it is worth modding. Any others with 305s out there? Thanks.

Duh!!!
Didn't you see every body after 9/11?
Need more inspiration?
By the way for your 305, your best mod would be a cam change.
Do a search on this forum for cam change on a 305, there is a lot of info.

Pretty much the idea. Also, I am a USMC veteran and I wanted to contine to show my patriotism. Thanks for the compliments!

I live in Denton, but I work in Carrollton.

Thats one nice looking Jimmy! I'll bet you turn heads everywhere you go! I don't imagine you'll be rock crawling with it (I wouldn't want to scratch it yet!) So a mild cam, open up the breathing a bit and a higher stall would really do you well. Sweet ride!

[/ QUOTE ] Best mod I can think of would be: http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?action=prod_detail&catid=120&pid=465 , with a RamJet fuel injection /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: Pics of my \'81 Jimmy (work in progress)

Hey I grew up in Denton..my parents still live there. How long have you lived there?

Re: Pics of my \'81 Jimmy (work in progress)

BorregoK5- Thanks! I don't mind getting a little banged up, as I painted it, so I can surely repaint it if need be.

Z3PR- LOL! Yeah, I imagine that motor would work out nicely. I guess I'll stick with my small block, though. I have a Holley fuel injection kit coming for it and I hope that will help a bit.

Stickseler- I have only lived in Denton for about 8 months. I moved here from San Diego earlier this year.
