I'm not gonna run a body lift on mine. Its not together yet, but I plan on cutting for clearance.

my plan also. i'm just trying to guage how much cutting vs how much of the bumper will stick out. if i could get the entire thing tucked within the frame rails i'd be happier

Here you go raymos. Hope these work for you. I love the bumper center. It is very beefy and a work of art! I have not used the winch yet. But, For the price, It was a no brainer. I do have a 2" body lift. If you don't, Be planning to do some cutting. You can also check out (nvrenuf), He has the same bumper with a different winch. His thread is here. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217030

Hate to dig up an old thread, can you tell me what winch that is? Im looking at the a bomb kit and wondering what my options are

The opportunity is there so I have to say it.... a good condition, used Warn 8274 is still better than most of the stuff on the market today.

wow comparing new to new its $400 and $2,000.00 i don't think they are on the same playing field lol

I think the point was more that a 20 year old 8274 is better than the new stuff. I had an 8274 back in 1996 on my first car, an FJ40.

Smittybilt winches are like the hummer tires for rock crawlers. They do the trick but there are better things out there.

^^ Exactly ^^

I have an 8274 that I bought used in '84 and it still pulls like crazy. I'd put it up against an off brand 12k any time.

I run a Warn 8274 on my trailer, the truck has an engo 12K with a synthetic line. Never had an issue with my engo and I carry snatch blocks if I need to get creative.

Everyone in my off road club that has or had one failed. Mine too. Never even used it before it failed. They replaced it, But still, It was a pain to switch it out. The cheaper Warns are better from what I've been hearing. I will never get another Smitty again. When I need a winch, I'm in trouble. I need something reliable to get me out. It will be a Warn for sure next time.
