Alright Fellas,
Just thought I would finally post some pictures that I took today of my 72 K5 that I have had for about 11 months. It has been a great truck with some good mods and has gobs of power. She doesn't look half bad either, mostly because it is street bound 95% of the time. My plan is to get Deaver springs front and rear with another 2" of lift. Get 35" Pro Comp muds or Xtreme AT's. And with any luck a STC or similar Fast Track Soft Top. What do ya'll think?

I think the truck looks great.

Consider keeping the hardtop if it fit well..your truck is too nice for a softtop if it fits like mine...

F*ck Deaver, talk to Tom or Charlie over at Alcan.

Nice seats, nice interior, beautifull paint, nice wheels, nice motor...Keep that thing off the trails!!!:wink1:

thats the seat setup i wanna put in my 71. Can you take some pics of your rear seat areas? thanks man. I got my STS fast track top on ebay for $400. there is a bestop softop on ebay right now but I wasn't impressed with them as much. Hopefully those new owners of STC get it going again though. Also screw the high dollar spring companys. put a set of 52s in the front. I posted my how to in the 69-72 section

What's the story on Alcan. I've never heard of them. Deaver seems to have a great reputation, other than price, and a neighbor who knows all about this sh!t has highly recommended them plus they are about 15 minutes from my house. Hell, I'm open to all suggestions. Any other feedback on Alcans products. Fortunately the hard top is in the attic of my garage and still in good shape. I just don't see my self putting it back on since I live in So Cal.
Thanks for the cudos on the Blazer.

Obviously im a little partial to first gen, so i love it. But i love them all.
Nice rig.

Thanks MNorby for the words

Yeah, I'll take some pics tomarrow of all the seat stuff. I'll try to get them of the brackets as well but it is a tight area. The seats are damn comfy and support very well. The seats are from PRP out of Temecula, CA. and seem to be less expensive than the competitors. Best money I have spent on the blazer so far.

I have a pair of cavalier seats now but was looking into those JCW knockoff suspension seat for the front at like $130 each but haven't decided on rear but I like what I can see of yours.

Very, very nice! I wouldnt be wheeling that one either.

Hey just a thought. I obviously don't know your situation but if you are thinking of spending $130 for each seat you might want to give PRP a call for two reasons.
First, is that each one of my front seats was $245 dollars and the custom length rear bench 47" was $399. I got some other stuff including custom lenght belts, seat mounts seat belt loops, sliders and lumbar supports which totalled about $1360.00. You wouldn't need every option I got but my thought is safety first comfort second and they are damn comfy.
Second, When I went to their shop in temecula, CA. the owner showed me several sets of seats that were very nice Daily Drivers (what I have) that he was blowing out because people never picked them up or screwed him on the seats. For some reason he didn't require a deposit before making the custom seats (colors and bench size) so he was out a bunch of money and was selling them real cheap. I would have bought them but they were not the colors I was looking for. Give them a call to see what they might have that someone never pick up or whatever. PRP # 800 317-6253

Also, for you other guys on CK5, I really appreciated the nice comments about the truck. Like you all said, Most of my driving is on the streets of So. Cal. All of my wheeling is going to be local fire service roads, all light trail use and the like. Plus if I do go out and break anything like my muffler bearings or piston return spring I'd be screwed because I'm not very mechanically inclined. I am slowly learning though.

Happy New Year to Ya'll

Here are the pics of the Interior seats and the brackets etc. Hope you like. Let me know if you have any other questions. I did have to fab the brackets for all three seats myself because they didn't mount up exactly right.DSCN0403.JPG

Could be done but easily. Would not be worth the time.
