I hope the headers will work! I have not put engine in yet. still in process of putting it together. If I get my truck back by the weekend, I will be putting motor and trans back in.

Is that S&W cage for blazers? Don't go throwin' a bone out like that and not give us some more info!!! Please! Call it out this post again when you get that cage instaled.
Thanks

I had a post about this before. the S&W kit is nice. this is a rollcage with the "halo" bar. the only thing is it doesn't cover rear seat. I may modify it. I have used their rollcages in a couple of racecars. They fit great. all the tubes are prenotched. I will post pics as it goes in. 199.00 for cage. 76 dollors for fed ex delivery.

So whats up with the newer doors on the '73 body???

Just curious...how much did you pay for your tub? My buddy is lookin for one...the one he found was going for $800 in the boneyard...he went down to look at it a week later and they had allready crushed it...seems its gonna be fun to find a tub.

I'll bet that he just hasn't cut them down yet. GM didn't make "special" doors for the '73-75 K5's. They just cut off part of the stock door and added some weatherstripping to seal 'em. You can use any door from '73 to '91 on those K5's (except the '88 and newer pickup trucks. They're a different body style). Just cut 'em down to fit. You may have to weld in a small bracket to attach the and caps to, just inside the holes after you make the cuts.

I'll be finding out more about this soon as the doors on my '75 are pretty much wasted...

Yea, I know the doors fit up the same, but it just seems like another pain in the ass that could be avoided. And if he could find a tub that straight, I'm surprised he didn't locate some doors too.

Good doors like that disappear fast. Plus if you want to use power windows and locks, it's easiest to grab newer doors and cut 'em to fit.

It's a great day to be alive...

since I plan on trail runnin this alot, I sold the cherry doors I had to "boss" for his rig. I didn't want to trash a good set of doors. I took a set of doors from a parts truck and cut them down to fit. cheap aftermakets. already have some dents.

I paid 300 for it on a frame with axels and a replacement noseclip. It needed some work, but the floors are solid. It is not a 73 tub. somebody took a 87 tub and sectioned on a 73 firewall. not a perfect job, but alot better than what I had.It still had the 73 frame and I saved the d44 with flat top knuckle. sold nose and original frame. I "tripped" over it when I went to go look at a 89 blazer for the wife. He bought it for the motor/tranny. was going to scrap it!!
