What are you guys doing to store stuff?
I.e., tools, specialty tools, cans, boxes of gloves, etc.

I'm looking for ideas to update my Trans. rebuilding bench.
I could google it, but we all have the same stuff, so this is easier.

I like to see the creative things others have done.
Especially, the ones that I would never even have thought of otherwise.

So.... What have you done to store things?
(Or, make them more convenient.)

It's all strewn about on the floor and shelves in my shed. I can't even see the floor.

Oh wait, helpful replies? I mean I did make the shelves. I think they have less things on them than the floor though.

I'll have to get some pics up. I LOVE storage. just love cool boxes or containers and whatnot.

filing cabinets....

I'm sure you've seen my DIY shelving in the background of my build thread photos....

Nothing more than either a 2x4 or 2x6 vertical board with 3/4" slots dadoed into them approximately every 6" so that I can slide in standard 1x4 or 1x6 pine as shelves.

You can remove or re-configure them as needed for the sizes of "stuff" you need to accomodate, and wider shelves can even hold a microwave or boombox. Clear tupperware containers on the shelves allow you to see everything easily without taking each one down to look inside.

I can post up some specific photos of the shelves if none of this sounds familiar.

I've seen em....
It's actually one of the inspirations I had to start this thread. :D

I'm definitely gonna use that system for certain things.

I've waited for a house with a basement or stairs in the garage just so I could copy that system.

tell ya what, I REALLY like is the filing cab's.... mine are nice older, quality unit's..... you can load some serious weight in em if need be...

I have one for loose power tools, circ saw, corded 1/2 drill's and such..

one is for my porta power setup... another is strictly for dies, etc for my 105HD...

than the brown ones are mostly for hardware, supplies, etc...

1 of the hardware drawers.. oops, sorry, fuzzy... :doah:

what's great is it keeps everything away from the dust, and makes cleaning the shop, and shelves, way easier.... any shelves I have, I try to enclose/door/banner somehow, to keep the shelves from getting so Ryoken dusty...
