gettin' ready to shorten my 87 3/4 ton. 118-120" sound about right? anyone have a picture of a frame after splicing? thanks guys, Patrick

I didn't shorten mine but I got rear ended years back and it bent the frame bad right above the rear tires. I took an old long bed frame and measured twice and spliced once back into my shortbox setup. There used to be pics floating around. I don't have them any more but I'll see if I can find the origs...

why not just move the spring mounts? i just did this on my 93 extended cab project. its ALOT easier and much cleaner.

oh and if you decide to cut it, slice the frame at a 45*( angle so theres more strength when you reweld it.

I thought about moving my spring hangers but then there wouldn't be a little hump in the frame where the axle sits and it wasn't really all that difficult to do in my opinion.
