Pictures of your blazer on 44\'s or anything with lots of trimming

Does anybody have pics of their mid 80's blazer on 44's running between 8 and 10 inches of lift. Curious how it looks how much fender trimming is needed. Debating between 40's and 44's. I keep thinking that if I'm going to the trouble (fun) to fit 40's I might as well put some 44's on there. Really want to stay with a max of 8 to 10 inches of lift. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif How about anything with alot of fender trimming.

Thanks SAVAGE1 for the info.

What about 42's? Or you looking at a choice for sale?

42's and 6 inches of lift. I've cut more after this pic was taken.

8 to 10 inches is quite a bit of lift. Are you sure you want to go that high?

Thanks a bunch. I don't know if I said it before but I am considering going to 44's with 8 inches of suspension. I have a 2 inch body lift but not sure if that counts. Mine is an 85 sitting on a 76 frame. had to do the body lift to clear the frame. Thanks again.

With that much lift you should have no problem fitting 44's, if you don't mind a little Sawsall action of course /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I would really like to stay at a maximum of 8". Sawzall action doesn't bother me at all. Fact I kinda like the cut look. With 8" I can retain some of the fenders though. I am kinda curious if and how you guys are retaining your innerfender well when you cut alot.

I don't see too many 42's around anymore. I really like the boggers also. There is that itch again. If I had 42 why didn't i just get 44's...hmmmm /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

What inner fender well? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I took mine out, but you can still get away with keeping it and cutting a lot as long as you don't cut the top edge of the fender. There are 3 bolts(i think) that run along the top of the fender that hold the inner fender in place. You can cut all you want along the fire wall.

The easiest way to do it is remove your inner fenders, cut your outer fenders, cut a little of the inner fenders along the fire wall part, then re-install them. This saves you the trouble of cutting through two layers of fenders, which ain't always easy when the angles get awkward.

I got 40's to work with a 6" lift, 3" body and moving the axle forward 1.5". I run extended shocks and even all flexed out, it clears, I also cut the back of the fenders but I still run the inner fender. Figure I could run 44's in the mud.

Re: Pictures of your blazer on 44\'s or anything with lots of trimming

I was planning to cut the innerfender well and then do a little sheetmetal work and patch it in to fill the void. If i ever get that far I will take some photos...

Re: Pictures of your blazer on 44\'s or anything with lots of trimming

i've got the opposite. 13" of lift and 39's that measure to about 37. . . . but they'll be 44s soon.

I agree Rod's truck is awesome. I like Sapper's quite well too. BowtieRed, Very nice. Do you take that off road. Looks pretty clean. I'm not so sure I could beat the hell out of that thing. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
