pieces inside NP203 case?

i recently took apart a np203 that i got a hold of and among other things found that there was pieces laying in the bottom of case under the chain. anyone know where these could of came from?
I assume the larger round thing is just a magnet.

yep magnet. and looks like some sort of thrust washer.

i had a 203 1time. tossed the back half in the scrap used the range box on my 203/205 dubbler kit.

that piece that looks like a bent piece of wire seems to have been round once in its life and has teeth on the inside diameter.

i couldn't get the 4wd to engage while it was in the truck so I'm wondering if these have anything to do with it. I assume the fact there was no oil and only mud and water in it also didn't help.
