1966 Opel rekord mounted to 1990 Nissan pathfinder.
As long as the tracks are in there, I've seen lightweight cars use a strap affixed to the bottom of the window and the strap is run up and out the top of the door skin. The other end of the strap attached to the door to hold the window up. Cheap and easy.
ah. I misunderstood. Yeah, that will probably work for now.
No, you use a seat belt, or rachet strap or something like that to raise or lower it.

I think it kinda adds to the character of the project.
I got the passenger side A-pillar done and re-hung the doors.
I decided since I had the doors on I wanted to get the fenders in the right position as well.
Did a little cutting to get it done, but that is where they'll be. Grill in front for effect.
I cut the front fenders back in order to clear, but they'll need to come up higher for sure. I'm thinking hard about just using the pathfinder fender flares after all. I'll have to make that call soon.

I got the drivers side rocker and B-pillar welded up inside and out.
Also, since I have the A-pillars locked down, I cut out the supports between them. About time to start putting the dash back together.

I finished installing the dash.
I was able to confirm that the hvac system all works. No power to the radio or glovebox light, so I probably blew a fuse.
I wish I would have been nicer to the vents when I was pulling it apart, but it all works. I may make a trip to the junkyard to replace some stuff I broke.

I didn't notice this last night, but looking at the pic now, it doesn't look like you can roll the passenger side window down with the door closed. Looks like the handle is going to hit the dash.

I think it adds more character if you have to open the door to roll the window up/down.
You may have a point, but the amount of "character" in this build is getting pretty high.
Take the clip off the handle so you roll it as far as you can, pull the handle off, re-align it, and repeat process.
Just put a cordless drill adapter on the end of the shaft...
I'll bet you could find a 12pt socket that would fit and use a cordless ratchet.
