I need to replace my pinion seal on my rear 10bolt. Whats the best method to do this?

Remove pinion nut
remove yoke
remove carrier and pinion
remove pinion seal
replace pinion seal
replace crush sleeve
reinstall pinion, set preload
reinstall carrier

I was afraid of taking my whole axel apart to replace it.

I need to get my truck aligned so I will have a shop replace it because I have replaced gears and I don't feel like digging into my axel like this again. Too much of a pain.

YOu can change it with just taking the yoke off and pulling the seal out, but I wouldnt reccomed it, you most likely wont get the preload right. Just take it to a shop in the area, they shouldnt charge more then a hours labor and the seal.
