hi my pinion needs to be lowered 4 degrees to
match my transfer case u joint angle

my question is should I get a 4 degree shim?

or should I get a 6 degree shim to compensate for the pinion raising up when I hit the gas

General rule of thumb is the pinion will rotate 1-2 degrees up under throttle. Of course that varies greatly based upon leaf spring rate and whether blocks are involved.

I have 5 1/2 inch tall blocks so it defiantly has some leverage there

If you are going to use blocks to get your lift they really shouldn't be over 4 inches anything more then that and your just asking for problems..
