Plans for BB09

I don't know if I would say Steve bailed so much as just recognized it wasn't something he could do this year. I know it was a hard decision for him, so understandably it was a little long in coming. He has given me the green light for planning BB09 and he plans to be a little more involved.

I have already started working on things. The biggest hurdle is going to be the BLM permit so that's getting most of my attention right now. Once that's out of the way, we can feel more comfortable moving ahead with the other details like the hotel, etc.

We are also very lucky to have Dirk there in Moab to help us with the details that provide "face-to-face" attention. He was the one that arranged for all of us to park at in the school parking lot. Good thing he has connections. :D

Regardless, you and Nicole did a great job of organizing everything and we are all very thankful for it

I personally don't feel that anything during this Blazer Bash was setup poorly, it seemed to run just like the other BB's I've been to.

The only snafu I heard about was the backwards Metal Masher thing and that didn't sound like a big deal at all.

I can't wait until next year, I'm probably 50/50 on EJS next year so BB'09 might be my next trip to Moab

That was my fault, and I'm not heartbroken about it at all :D. That way, it was a new trail for me :p:.

And I realized that the light for photos at Widowmaker is better in the morning than in the afternoon...;)

Thanks Chris! :D

Speaking of running trails backwards, one of the trails I have planned for BB09 is Flat Iron Mesa again, only backwards this time. It will make the trail a little more challenging and fun.

I also swear not to make any changes to the General in the 4wks before BB09. I HATED not having my truck to drive. I'm very grateful that Dad had his rig for me to drive, though.

im wanna try to make it next year..mabye the first east coaster over there

Nope. We count the West Virginia guys as East Coast. :D

Anyways, we'll hold you to it :deal:. You've got 50 more weeks.

And keep in mind, we've heard all the 'rah rah, next year' talk before ;). Particularly from the Texas guys... only for no one to make it except Frank from Houston :D. He just simply builds his truck and gets it to wheel in Moab...:pimp:

But don't let that deter you. Moab is always a good time...

We did some out west around Shenandoah and in West Virginia. Most of the time we went down to the Outer Banks to play on the sand.
