Next project is a roll cage, I have a bender and notcher, going to use 2" dom tubing for the cage. Gonna go the full route as well as the "family" cage, or in other words cage the bed area as well. I am looking for pics so I can get some ideas.

Thanks

Hope ya don't mind Dep but I'm getting ready too do the same thing and would love some pics. And I'll bump ya to the top.

there's some pics of my "family style" cage on my webshots below. I'm going to try and get more pics to update tommorrow.

Well you know where to find my truck. I learned a little making my cage. It's not a bad cage but a few things I would change if I was to do it over again. First is I would go though the dash with the front legs if at all possible. Where my front legs are now is not too bad, doesn't block anything like window cranks, glovebox door and was easy to get use to but having them tighter to the A-Pillar would have been nice. The good thing about the current location is that I retain my stock parking brake. I also am able to use it as a grab bar when on the trail. I was holding onto the mirror bracket and trying to break that habbit before I caught a branch or something and smashed my hand.
I also am going to add a couple stringers between the legs.

Here are some pics of a pretty nice cage I found on Scotts site. I just made a tubing bender this weekend so I'm planning my cage too. I like most of this cage but it has the front legs in front of the dash. I'm going to run mine through the dash cause I know it'd drive me nuts if I kept hitting my leg on it.

That's the link I was going to give, Joe! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Of all the cage pics I've seen; that one is probably the one I like the most. Simple but complete. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Only difference like Grim mentioned is that mine will pass through the dash. Mine will also be tied to the frame.

Good Luck with it

Grim, mine goes through the dash and I only had to bend the parking brake out a bit. Probably could have gotten away with sawzalling the left side off of it, but that's too much work. LOL. Love having mine through the dash and tucked in tight to the body. Just got to get the frame mounts in already. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
