Please Help...Truck wont start

O.K. Went to go start my truck up the other day and it wouldnt start, so first thing i checked the battery (good) then i thought maybe the starter, so i took that off and checked it (good), do yall think it could be the ignition switch or the park/neutral safety switch?????

check all your battery connections ground and positive,
make sure there tight, plus try to give more info,
does it turn over, does the ignition light come on,
does anything happen when the key is turned, could be the

no, i doesnt even try to start. the radio and everything come on but when it goes to the start it doesnt do anything, im going to take the switch off tommoro and see what it looks like back there

clean all the conections and tighten em up. Thats wher i would start, just start looking for loose and dirty wires.

You didnt say what year your truck was, or wether it was an auto ir a stick. First thing I would check was to see if there was a "crank" fuse. Then I would check for power to the small wire on the starter solenoid when the jey is turned to crank. Then I would check ign switch then neutral saftey in that order.

I had this problem on my Jeep, and it turned out to be a bad starter /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

How did you check the battery? Simple voltage test isn't a guarantee. You need to load test it to be sure. I agree with others that you should check the cables first.

i load tested it and everything, i think it has something to do with the ignitions switch because i have to take my key out in the acc position, something is wrong with it, im going to get out there today and look.
