Thx to all that read and reply to this post...

Anyways... 4 mo. ago i bought a 1988 Suburban 1/2 ton 4x4 from an elderly man... engineer... real miticlous kind of guy... vehicle was unreal clean...

i purchased the vehicle with 140,xxx miles... he had a whole folder full of recipts and work done in the 15 years he has owned it

it had a new trans and motor installed in 1999 with just over 100,000 on it, and ran great when i bought it... i have the recipts for the goodwrench motor (the right one too) and the chevy dealer that installed it...

anyways this motor went out 700 miles after i bought it... has a bad knock, but still starts

i have since purchased my blazer and wish to sell this.

i paid 3200 dollars for it as the interior has been almost completley restored (seats all prof. re done, air recharged. dash, etc...) EVERYTHING works from the rear heat and air to elec. windows and locks, no stains anywhere... looks like new...but now has a non working motor, it has paint 4 years ago, looks great, oringinal rally's, tow package... 700r4 that works right.. under hood looks great, so may recipts, i hate to sell but don't have time and money for this project anymore..

what can i get for this.. i will post pics up in the next couople days...

i was gonna throw on ebay, but this should be worth atleast 1700 or so with the bad motor... i have not seen this gen burb with an interior like this

help me

All you can do is try to sell it for the price you want and see what happens. Personally I wouldn't give over a grand for a perfect 88 with a bad motor but there are plenty of skilled engine re-builders who probably would consider it.

It all depends on the individual.

your gonna have a hard time selling it for near what its worth with a bad motor. As stated above, all you can do is try, or get the motor fixed and sell it for what you want out of it if you can afford to sit on it for a while

If its that nice of a truck, you should just keep it, either rebuild the motor you have, or just pickup a 350, i've seen some in very good shape go for 500 bucks. and if you don't want it, then you could sell and make a nice chunk out of it. :)

Yeah, if it'a as clean as you say, i would definately install another motor in it,,,

or i'll send ya $500 for it as is :p: :wink1:

Moved to classifieds...no selling in the Garage.
