While I don't have my cold starting performance perfect yet either, I don't really mess around with my PF4. I probably dorked some things up in the settings a couple of times, my son and I have worked lots of it out. As far as the hardware, I have not had issues, I even have gone out in the boonies by myself and made it back without problems.
I do wish for a little more control over some parameters, but I honestly believe that is partially due to having the automatic transmission, your SM465 will eliminate the problem of stumbling and dying when putting it into gear cold. You're already going to have your foot over the gas pedal, and you will load the engine slower than an automatic transmission.
I am curious about the Volcano modification for the single plane manifold, (
@folkenheath sells that too) but I don't know if I will pull mine off to do it.
Oh. I believe that I have the same Edelbrock heads, can't remember for sure, but that number seems correct.
