Please talk me into Edelbrock PRO FLO 4

Just checked and its a no-go on your SS coil unless its safe to use it with multi-discharge box.

If not using a coil from this list, ensure that the coil’s primary resistance is at least 0.6 Ohms and inductance is at least 6.0mH. Pro Flo 4 can NOT directly fire low resistance, low inductance coils that are intended for use with a CDI box otherwise severe damage may result. If choosing to use a CDI type coil, a CDI box must also be used. Damage caused by improper coil selection is not covered under warranty. A CDI box is recommended for high horsepower and high rpm (>6,500 rpm) engines.

Note that Edelbrock ignition coils part #22740, #22741 & #22742 are intended for use with the Edelbrock Max-Fire distributors only and are NOT compatible with the Pro Flo 4. Using these coils with the Pro Flo 4 may damage the system.

Example of an UNACCEPTABLE coil that will damage your Pro Flo 4 ECU is the MSD 8207 Blaster SS coil: https://www.holley.com/products/igni...ils/parts/8207 Its primary resistance is 0.355 ohms and is below the minimum primary resistance spec.
your blazer is awesome BTW.

As for a tank, I'd suggest a 87 and newer EFI tank / hanger that has internal baffles and a Walbro 255. I used a bigger Wallbro 450 in tank pump on mine but not really needed at less than 500hp.

Thanks!

the 31 will fit, you just need to keep it moved toward the back of the truck. I run that tank on my SWB K10 with the 381 pump anf FiTech.

for the pump you can run the Walbro GSS342 if you don't want to run the Delco 381. Both have proven to work fine but I chose to run the Walbro with the PF4 and a 25 gallon TBI tank and sending unit.

Good info thanks. My current tank is the 25 gallon non baffled. So the 25 gallon baffled of the same style may fit in my current location without moving it back. Just need to check my clearance after I move my axle back tonight 1inch. And set my bump stops correctly in the rear.

Recently installed ORD shackle flip and 56's in the rear, but would like my axle more centered and am using WFO's 1/2" thick axle relocation block.. And have ordered a 1350 cv rear shaft for this length. Just getting stuff dialed still, constantly.

Appreciating all the advice, I have searched and read stuff, but real world feedback makes me feel better about taking the 2000$ plus plunge.....

The K5 25 gallon baffled tank is the same dimensions as the non baffled. The 31 is just taller than the 25, I ran both on my SWB before settling on the 31.

awesome. I just walked out and looked again at my truck, the tank is about 7 inches up and almost in line with the axle. When I set my bump stops correctly, which will be soon, it would not be able to contact it.

In 2005 I bought Pro-Flo for my 454 build. After getting the chip back from Edelbrock w/cam specs burned into it fired it up... did my best to "tune" all the settings but the best $200 I ever spent was taking my K5 to a dyno tune shop. The before and after of my Air/Fuel was huge. At my setup I would have burned holes in my piston tops within the first 3K miles. I'm fixen to take it back again for a check up come this summer as I have never touched it sense.
Throttle Response is freaken AWESOME! Rap Rap Rap as fast as I can move my foot = Zero delay = I love it!

Wow! Was that version 1?

Either way, pretty awesome. I know several of the ORD trucks are still running the v2

Pf4 for the win. Spent lots of money. First FiTech had some glitches. Second sniper had some hiccups and just failed and well ruined my only vacation that year. Third PF4 so far no problems 2 years now it’s just money but it hurt to waste it on what didn’t work. Just my experience. YMMV.

Good to hear! Awesome, I will post up when I order. Still figuring out what fuel tank and pump situation

The new TBI systems are nothing like the old pro-jection. There's also the MSD Atomic EFI.

If you don't want TBI, about the only option I'm aware of is the PF4 unless you want to spend over $3k for a Holley system.

I agree the newer TBI systems are nothing like the old TBI, they are a lot better, I still don't recommend them on a dual plane. Also, with the advent of Terminator X from Holley the prices have gone down some, but they are still not as cheap as the Edelbrock for sequential multi port injection. They do add a lot more capability though, whether you need it is up to the user.

I have PF4 in stock and can likely save you some money if you haven't ordered yet. I also have MSD Blaster 3 Coils in stock.

Holley now has EFI Fuel tanks for our trucks I can get, you can also get a factory TBI tank and drop a walbro in it.

@CharlesC83 if you need a sending unit for a TBI tank you may have trouble finding one. I couldn't get one back in the fall when I did my install.

If you want a 25gal K5 tank with the baffle, I believe 87 was the only year for those.

I used an external pump and regulator kit from Edelbrock for my PF4. https://www.edelbrock.com/inline-fu...tric-fuel-pump-3594-regulator-1728-35943.html because I couldn't find a sending unit. It's a commonly used Walbro pump. I have no complaints with it. I don't find it to be loud, I guess if I stood outside the truck I might hear it, but I tend to drive my truck from inside the cab. :rotfl: I wouldn't hesitate to run the same setup again. I guess the only thing I can't speak to yet is if the long term life will be there. I drive the PF4 equipped C10 over 150 miles a week, so I'll give it a good test.

I'm gonna write down the dimension difference height wise and see if I can swing a 31 gal. More fuel for snow wheeling would be nice.

I can find the empty sender from dorman on ebay in stock for 75$.

31 hangs 4inch lower if i recall over 26 gal .

And is that sender for tbi ?

And i prefer spectra premium fuel tanks and senders . NOT a fan of lots of dorman crap .

And pro flo 4 owner here and love it .

That is an empty sender, that I would want to install the right pump into. I can look for spectra also. Im searching this AM, Im hoping to order this weekend.

4 inches lower will not work for me on the tank. dang
