Please tell me this isn't someone on here selling these..

That's not as bad as the front axle hub covers for an early Bronco I saw being sold for $600 a couple years ago, not even the manual locking parts, just the piece that had the Bronco logo.

or the $1000 dollar 1st gen tow hooks..
Makes me want to start going to the yards and pulling stuff and holding on to it for 20 years.

Well they showed up.

For the price I'm not too disappointed, needs some material taken off on the inner part, I'm running later model door panels. They aren't as nice as the originals bt also 1/4 of the cost.

I refinished my original ones...I have NEVER seen a pair of NOS of these...ever.

Look good from the pic.

I actually have a never installed cap, didnt come with the package when I got it.
Even tha seal is there.
Don't remember which side.
Only have the 1.

I've replaced them, I just grabbed what looked to be about the right size for test fit and pics.

You don't have any caps at all?

Would they work if they were aluminum? I don't even remember this part. But it could be machined on a 3 axis CNC mill it looks like. And out of aluminum is would be a easy fast part to make then have them all black anodized. Or powder coated:dunno::thinking:. Another part I should add to my list?

I used a air of those when I chopped my 81 many years ago. Complete junk, I wouldn't run another set if they paid me $27...

Had the same ones, they're not molded rubber. They're brittle Chinese plastic. Didn't like them, so I went back to my old OE caps. Have a set of these sitting in the garage somewhere if somebody wants a set.

I wonder how hard it would be to cast these out of aluminum? I'm sure theses could be milled though. I've seen some complex things milled out of aluminum.

Thanks blazer74, just needed my memory refreshed. I've got diy tube doors on my K5. Still have stock doors too, they're just packed away up on the Mez. I have a set of 76' up full frame doors for mine as well if it makes completing my custom soft too build easier to just run framed doors on my 73', then I will. One other member did this. His K5 was bad ass.

The result of this thread is that I just spent $69 bucks on some rusty bent pieces of sheet metal. They will be sent over to @Deuling before I install them on my truck, he should be able to get the price down!

Thanks a lot!
