plug wires/boots

whats the best wires to use on a big block with headers ? which boots are best, angled, straight,90 degree ? also ones that wont break the bank if you know what I mean

Any good name brand.. I personally like the hi temp wires. don’t fall for the “hi performance” hype…. standard ( 8m I think?) would be ok. Just make sure you secure them good and don’t let them burn up on the headers….that’s the important thing.

id go with some taylor wires with 90 degree boots maybe 8.5s or bigger

Agreed, MSDs or Taylors with some plug boots. I believe boots should be used whenever headers are present, nothing beats burning a $100 set of wires up

Get a kit that has mostly straight boots and 45 degree boots. They are what you need for a bbc.

exactly what I meant there zimmer...135 degree boots. Some of the straight boots can bend a few degrees as well.

If you are on the cheap a set for a 351 ford used to work great. I always get the 135 deg boots.

The straights touch the tubes, the 90* touch the flange.

The Taylor 135* must be the same as the Accell 60*. They work perfectly on all 8. I found some heat sleeves about 6" long that fit over the boots, never had a prob.
