plug wires...preferances?

At work we were building a spark ignited diesel fueled 2 stroke for a military application. Weird, huh? Well, it runs! However we kept running into ignition electrical noise screwing with the injection and spark electronics (Motec + M&W). Had an RFI/EFI specialist consultant Electronics Engineer come out & consult on it. We were doing everything the way it should be. He didn't find anything that made him question it.

So we tried MSD wires (in place of the garden variety Taylors) as I've always had good experiences with them. They let me down. They sparked just fine, but we still had a noise issue. Then we tried some Magnecor wires. They ended that problem. Since then I recommend them for the difficult situations. Top shelf components.

The only really bad plug wire experience I have had was with a set of magnecores. Maybe its hit or miss :dunno:

Taylor is the best I've run into, followed by a set of Napa house-brand wires believe it or not. I had a set of Accel wires and the boots *melted*. They were about 1/2" from the headers on my big block. Went with Taylor 120 degree boots on a few projects and like someone else said, they don't seem to melt even with direct contact!

ill prob get a set from summit, ive got more stuff i need to order from there anyways.

Thats like me,I`ll wait till I have a good size order before I ... order.:haha:
Even if I need 1 part bad , an have to wait on it .:D

i've used msd and taylor and they seem to be about the same to me. i like the msd ones a bit better, maybe its just me but i think the boots are more durable. you wont see any gain on a 250hp motor when comparing a quality wire in my opinion.
