Pole barn advice - siding done, power in

Looking good Luke
You supposed to get big snowfall later this week?

It's saying "little to no accumulation". Normally that means just a few inches, which isn't a big deal, but this does just look like annoying wetness.

The roof panels are more than half in, so 1 more good day and they should be ready for shingles and start hanging the doors.

It's hard for me to finish laying in the firewood, dismantle the carport and get things cleaned up for winter when it's dark by 6pm now and raining half the time, but I keep making progress.

Still hoping I can get the carport materials stored before they're in my snow moving zone.20221111_173949.jpg

MTU Fourwheelers are having Poker Run this weekend, I bet they could finish it up in .2 seconds.

You mean drive on it and crush it? I was planning on these materials becoming a 10x30 lean-to off the side. I am losing materials constantly in this 6" of new snow, though.

It's beautiful as I'm out playing lumberjack, though. (The emerald ash borer has killed pretty much every ash tree in the state and that is probably 1/5 of my trees, so I have years worth of standing dead).

Since they're done, I tested to be sure a Jimmy, a Suburban and a Cadillac fit in there with the yard equipment. :waytogo: Then I got to blow snow with 0 vehicles in the way! Those guys were shoveling and using leaf blowers to finish the shingles.

Looks like a couple more feet will fall this week, so I'll get to see how often the roof will need cleaning.

Doesn’t it crack the shingles to nail them when they’re cold?

Not really
Gotta be careful bending them though

:sign6:of said parked vehicles.
Just put the trucks in to get them inside for the winter. Will probably continue to use the middle for the 3rd winter car. Then figure out how everything should really go in the spring.

For anyone interested, that ATS4 with winter tires rips in the snow. Cold weather package gets you nearly instant heat, heated steering wheel and seat heaters.
