So the mufflers on my k5 have gotten old after a week, i have flowmaster super 10s and it sounds great at idle but it gets too loud when driving, i cant hear the radio or talk to people.

So the deal is i still want an aggressive muffler but i want to be able to hear the radio and other people, anyone have any suggestions, ive been looking at flowmaster super 40s or dynomax bullets

yes.. I would describe a 50 as that.. slightly nastier than stock at idle, but nice and throaty when ya get into the pedal... if I was 25? I'd probably be running 40's...

those super 10's are F'n loud, friend of mine has them on his ZZ502.

I agree that the 50 series is probably your best bet.

Im running some off the shelf Dynamax from muff shop. I had some series 40 w/no Cats..and with a stock 305cid, it sounded horrible, plus my eyes would water from the fumes, lol. So, I had cats installed, dynamax muffs installed and tuned the carb. Now I have a nice lil , "non-stock" sound and truck runs great. :D

The magnaflow's have a deep sound at idle and right off idle, but usually arn't ear drum killers while driving. Not sure on the different models though

I don't think it's too bad currently I have no insulation on the firewall nor do I have any carpet. Plus I gave no ac so it's windows down for me and I can still hear but you do have to raise your voice a little, I'll try to take a vid so you can hear it outside and inside

going from what you have, I would probably suggest a 40...

I'm a hotrodder and I love snot... I tend to like louder sh*t.. gong from what you have now, I'd say go to the 40.. still too obnoxious, go to the 50...

I had a Delta Flow 40 behind a 350. It worked. Can't say I like it that loud anymore.

I have hooker headers/no cats/super 44s. It definitely rumbles at idle and is loud when you step on it. Just driving around gets pretty loud and as I've gotten older I could probably go for something a little quieter for regular driving, but I really like the sound when I get on it and I'd hate to lose that. Plus it's no longer a daily driver so it's allowed to be obnoxiously loud.

im thinking i agree with that, i definitely want it a little on the louder side, but right now its rediculous

right.. I'd hate to hear you come in and say you felt the 50's where too tame... go to a 40, see how ya like it.. if it grows too obnoxious than go to a 50 at that point imo...

I just put a dynomax super turbo on my k5. Think it sounds pretty good and has no drone.

First vid is outside and there is a little wind kicking up but you can still hear it pretty good

Second vid is inside, doors closed, windows up. I would have played the stereo but as you can see my dash is non existent right now:whistle:
