Post a Pic of the most hillbilly thing on your truck

at the current moment, all 3 of my trucks are stock. although, i did break an exhaust hanger on my 93 in July, and wrapped the tip back up, kind of in place, with a piece of #9 fence wire i had handy from the derby truck on the trailer behind it. i should probably fix that. i have another hanger, just havent made time to put it on yet.
 
The most hillbilly thing on my truck is still the exhaust. It was one of the last things i needed to do when i swapped the 6.2 in my truck. Right after I got rid of the 350 and had the truck gutted I lost my job. I couldn't leave the truck half done, but the no job thing at the time meant the budget was pretty tight. By the time I got to the exhaust I was pretty much tapped.

I put the exhaust system together using whatever junk leftover pipe i could find...mostly from other wrecked cars at my friends place. I had an old 50 series Flowmaster left from something previous. Anyways, there are about a dozen spliced and welded joints to make all the bends and stuff...not an exhaust system I was proud of then or now. I figured it'd last me a few months...but that was three years ago now. :doah:

If it'd just start leaking or falling apart I'd replace it...but ugly or not it is hanging in there looking and sounding the same as the day I chucked it together.

Mine's not too bad thankfully. I have a lot of things zip-tied in place/together, my exhaust is wired to the frame (PO did that one), no front bumper at all, but don't care. The PO had the vacuum line for my th350 routed to the vent tube on my front diff :confused: . And the only gauges that work are the ones that are aftermarket. Need to fix that soon too, but he hacked up the wiring...
 
my old '77 blazer the po had "repaired" the floor with about 25 license plates from the dealer i work at. the guy at the emissions center stepped on them & fell through:crazy: so naturally i fixed the floor againbut made sure to use some
galvanized aluminum (aka steet signs):D
 
i have to say the most redneck thing i have seen my dad do is this. he has a 87 burb with the slip yoke 208. when he lifted it and put in a 14FF, he need a longer driveline. so he took one with a slip in it (for a fixed yoke) and ran that with a piece of radiator hose to keep the slip in the driveline from compressing.

I had a flat rear tire so I took my spare dually tire/wheel and mounted it. Left it like that in the driveway for 6 months while I contemplated buying my IROKS. My dad, who uses used ATF for diesel in his 06 duramax asked me, "what are you attempting to do here, son?" My headliner in the blazer was hanging down so I just ripped it off, leaving a bunch of torn threads of headliner around the edges. Still there after about 3 years. Tied off the parking brake cables after I went to a 14bolt and some lady rolled down her window and told me that there was some kind of hose hanging down underneath my truck. I had the shell off and left the blazer in the rain for 3 months, destroying the carpet and the rear panels. Drove my cat 30 miles to work without knowing it until a colleague told me that there was a cat hanging around the blazer in the parking lot. Apparently the cat liked rotten carpet. Pulled out the suburban that got stuck in my backyard trying to pull out the K20 that got stuck trying to pull out the toyhauler that got stuck with the suburban. That was all accomplished with the dually wheel on the rear of the K5 and after jump starting the K5 with my datsun. Hacked the fenders with a sawsall, totally butchering it, should have used a die grinder, oh well. The blazer had an alarm horn that my inlaws bought for the wife when she used to drive it. Rather than unscrewing the horn from the fender and neatly cutting the wires, I broke the mount with a hammer and ripped the horn out.

The blazer had a cracked exhaust manifold and I replaced the manifold with a new stock exhaust manifold:doah: Here, I had the politically correct chance to put a set of headers on and stuck with stock exhaust.:doah:
 
I did a 14BFF swap to replace a blown up 10 bolt I left the front alone. Must have 2 spares. I did this about 3 years ago. I started hunting the 8 lug conversion parts about 2 weeks ago; Will do the swap when school is out.

When we put a 305 in my fathers van about three years ago the manifold studs to crossover pipe were shot on passenger side. So we bolted up the driver side and clamp the passenger side with a cheap set of Vise Grips. A few months ago I broke down in the van and had no tools to replace the mechanical fuel pump. I remembered the vise grips and took them off via the dog house and replaced the fuel pump and then clamped the vise grips back on and it still doesnt leak.
 
everything about my truck is hillbilly.
first pic is the truck,
2nd is my spare tire and hilift mount.
3rd is the custom radiator mount
4th my tail lights only one worx is just a tail light when head lights are on.
5th well, there was a block of wood inbetween the fender and batt. to hold it up but its MIA at the time.

I didi this last night. I am in the process of building mounts for my new rear bumper so i had to take the stock one off. I needed a place to put my plate with no bumper. I used 1x1x1/8 angle iron from a bed frame. I drilled two holes for the plate and tacked it to the frame on each side.:D Not too hillbilly but a little ghetto fab. It's still that brown color and has rivits in it:rolleyes:

7th was the first time i welded and i reinforced my lowering shackles
