Post up your BB15 build progress

My to-do list seems to keep regenerating... Before Moab I need to mount/wire my winch, add tubing to the front bumper, build swing outs for the rear bumper, add a parking brake, regear the diffs, and a couple small interior things.

We've trimmed down the "before Moab" list some. I'm not going to worry about the winch yet, I want to take my time on the winch cradle and build something that looks good. Getting it done before Moab would rush things a little more than I want. This weekend, we'll start building the sleeping/storage platform inside, living in the Suburban for a week means it needs to be comfortable. The front bumper tubing, rear bumper swing-outs, park brake and re-gear are still happening. Might try to finish sanding/priming the body as well.

got the exhaust done.

No pics but just got the t400 in place of the 4spd just gotta finish up and test. Other than that and all new steering components should be ready.

Upgrades on the S-10 are going to be delayed, no time. But next year, it's gonna be a whole different truck...

Myself, I'm working on steps backwards:

Don't think I can blame that on the turbo, everything I can come up with (internet, racing friends, etc) says that the pistons/rods/crank/bottom end should let go before a .030" over 4 bolt 350 block. It's kept in my heated garage and it's been mine for 15 years, so 100% it wasn't a problem with water frozen in the block (you never, ever, ever! do that in CO).

My best guess at this point is that it was a thin/bad casting. Doesn't matter in the end, broken is broken.

A Gen III Chevy V8 will replace it, still propane and still with boost. Just got back from a fairly long vacation, hopefully done by August and with some test/tune time before Blazer Bash. Not a lot of time :doah:

Ouch! Why not throw another block in it for the time being- would be quicker?

Quicker, but not a permanent answer. It would need to be a .030" over 350 block that's clearanced for a 3.75" stroke crank, not something I'm going to find laying around.

The Gen III stuff is so interchangeable, it's barely even considered a swap in my case (since I won't be using any of the electrical/fuel injection parts). I'll be there, and it will be well tested before hand :pimp:

I am almost ready. I just stepped up from 38.5's to 44's :eek1:. But already done most of the work I will do before BB. Just need to install my adjustable bump stops on the front and take it for a quick trail just to make sure clearance and everything is good b/f dragging it all the way to Moab. I would really like to change up my gearing before heading that way, but it's not terriable right now and will suffice for BB. But afterwords then I will change the gearing up
