New PSC steering pump this time

Doing a long over due tune up fuel pump valve cover gaskets ect not happy that it's still a 4spd but it is what it is oh it does have new steering components gear box down.

4.88s are done! But in the same weekend the AC condenser cracked and the fuel pump died.

This weekend I'll change the fuel pump and hopefully get the condenser swapped out.

Then I need to get the bumpers done with swing outs and a grille guard.

**** **** ****!!!

So, I've been evaluating where I'm at with this regarding Blazer Bash...and unfortunately I gotta call it. My Blazer will not be making it this year for a few reasons.

Number 1, with the work left I cannot see this running/driving soon enough to truly get the bugs worked out before Blazer Bash. It may be technically done in time, but with no shakedown time I see too much 'risk'.

Number 2, my buddy Stan from BC (BigDummy89K5) and my buddy Nick (bix here) were gonna head down with me. With three of us heading down any mechanical issues are less a big deal. First Nick pulled out due to starting a new job and not being able to get the time off. Shortly after, Stan injured himself working on his house...badly enough that he will likely not even be back to work til mid Sept. Stan is out this year...

I have the time booked, I'm unhurt, and have the cash set aside for two weeks of vacation. Today we dealt on a ~26' Wilderness trailer. If things go through we'll be pulling that down to moab with my new GMC pick-up and do some scenery trails with the new ride. Gonna bring the mountain bikes too.

Progress on the Blazer won't cease...however now the pressure is off and I can't spend the time it needs on it instead of possibly half-assing the remainder just to get it done for BB.

Next year I'm bringing the Blazer. We'll still be going this year though.

Copied from my build thread...

Anyways, I have some trail suggestion from Scott that I could safely do with my 2015 GMC. If anyone else is looking for scenery/bunny trails lemme know. It's be nice to 'wheel' with someone.

Might also show up, park, walk and take pics on the Sunday...maybe Hell's?

Still coming though...sadly not with the Blazer.

I have my 2 kids, 1 doesn't like the car seat much more then a few hours, so i plan on doing easy trails, ones that I can hop off of after a few hours, and go drop wife and kid 2 off.

i don't really feel like i'm making any progress... another fuel pump died today, lets hope this new one holds up. the a/c isn't blowing as cold as it should and after rehearing to 4.88 the droning between 70 and 80mph is unbearable. it's downright peaceful at 65mph or 85mph. of course all the speed limits in the southwest are 75 or 80mph...

Be sure and check the bearing for the out put on the transfercase. It could be worn and making noise...unless you know it's gear noise from the rear end... Then I'll be quiet. See y'all soon

its an exhaust drone. the bearings in the t-case are new, i rebuilt it last year when i installed the SYE..

Russel picked up my Blazer today and hauled it 4 hours north to Ft MacMurray. With it at his house he can work at the wiring in chunks during the week. As my Blazer isn't going to Moab this year I'm not gonna hold him to anything, but he did say he'd be bringing back a running truck next weekend.

My '15 GMC is ready to go though...:pimp:

I went with Delphi in both tanks after seeing more recent negative reviews of AC Delco pumps.

The last two were AC delco EP381 from summit. This newest one is a Delphi from napa.

In tank of external?

If external makes sure it's below the bottom of the fuel tank, these pumps don't like pulling fuel much and will go out in short order doing that. If it's below the bottom of the tank it will pull a siphon and get fed fuel easier.

Internal. The new Delphi pump is absolutely silent. You've got to be right next to the tank to hear anything. I'm pretty confident in this one.

The factory pump in my Yukon lasted 120k before it went kaput, its replacement, an ACDelco unit, lasted only 50k before it went bad, and the entire time it was noticeably noisy and downright loud when it was hot. I replaced it with a Delphi pump and it is silent, I can only hear it if I put my ear near the filler nozzle. It also came with a lifetime guarantee against failure.

Too bad you can't bring the Blazer, but oh well, at least we'll get to see ya!

I got an empty seat if you want to ride along.

New engine mounts. Hydro assist fixed. Heade out wheeling tomorrow.:woot:

I also have empty seats. My son can not get the time off now.

Myself, I'm working on steps backwards:

Don't think I can blame that on the turbo, everything I can come up with (internet, racing friends, etc) says that the pistons/rods/crank/bottom end should let go before a .030" over 4 bolt 350 block. It's kept in my heated garage and it's been mine for 15 years, so 100% it wasn't a problem with water frozen in the block (you never, ever, ever! do that in CO).

My best guess at this point is that it was a thin/bad casting. Doesn't matter in the end, broken is broken.

A Gen III Chevy V8 will replace it, still propane and still with boost. Just got back from a fairly long vacation, hopefully done by August and with some test/tune time before Blazer Bash. Not a lot of time :doah:

Did you figure out yet what you are gonna do b/f blazer bash? New motor in or...?
